Adventure Paddling on Colorado above Grand Canyon

I just read a pleasant article about taking some Kayaks on the Colorado river between Glen Canyon Dam and Lee’s Ferry (where the Grand Canyon National Park begins).   The stretch is about 15 miles long of just pleasant floating on a smooth current.  The water is clear as it is filtered from the dam, and the unspoiled canyon views are just as beautiful as those that await folks that run the river in the Grand Canyon National Park.

On this part of the Colorado river no special permits are required.  Also, six sandy camp sites are available along the shores that are maintained by the park service.  So, it is easy to make plans to go, and when on the river it is an easy adventure.

A recommended resource for planning a trip is: KayakPowell.com
